Los Angeles, California; officially the City of the Angel and often known by its initials L.A., is the most populous city in California and the second most populous city in the United States. With an estimated population of four million, Los Angeles is the cultural, financial, and commercial center of Southern California. The city is known for its Mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, Hollywood and the entertainment industry, and its sprawling metropolis. Quite honestly, it is a major melting pot for a variety of souls, some kindred and others not. That includes those whose lifestyles and tendencies deviate from the rest of the populace; those who rub elbows with the disturbed and bump fearlessly in the night.

 

For decades, the glamorous and often crime-riddled streets have been a siren-song for hopeful and fresh-faced starlets, all salivating for a glimpse into the seductive world of the rich and the famous; bottom dwellers who have clawed viciously from the underbelly of society to make a name so ominous that they are freely able to shake hands with the politicians they pay to put into office; engorged fatcats throwing the dice to rake in more green and dropping house after house on the big monopoly board.  

 

And there, deep down beneath the Hollywood hopefuls and moguls and criminals, are the unnatural creatures who blend into society like a malignant cancer cell, spreading and growing through its host. Although, not everything that lurks in the shadows of humanity is born of darkness; many are surviving just the same as their human counterparts, existing in the world and biding their time on the planet they so secretly share.

 

While the world turns, so do those within it.  Ever-evolving and ever-changing, playing the game and taking risks in ways that would constantly shift the checks and balances of the universe.
